Independent telescope reviews written by astronomers, for astronomers — no brand deals, no sponsored rankings.
TelescopeInsider exists because buying a telescope is harder than it should be. The market is flooded with overpriced junk, misleading specs, and reviews written by people who've never actually looked through the eyepiece.
We fix that. Every telescope we recommend has been tested under real night skies — evaluated for optics quality, mount stability, ease of setup, and genuine value for money. If we wouldn't recommend it to a friend, it doesn't appear on this site.
TelescopeInsider participates in affiliate programs including Amazon Associates. This means we may earn a small commission when you purchase through our links — at no extra cost to you. This is how we fund our testing and keep the site running.
However, our recommendations are never influenced by these arrangements. We recommend the best telescope for your needs, period. Products we don't believe in don't get recommended, regardless of commission rates.
Have a question about a telescope, a product suggestion, or a correction? We'd love to hear from you.
